Material as the foundation of a silhouette’s architecture.
At L’ESKIZZO, working with fabric begins with understanding form.
Material defines not only how a future garment looks, but also how it moves, how it interacts with the body and how it conveys the character of the design idea.
For L’ESKIZZO, a Ukrainian brand of structured womenswear, the choice of fabrics is an inseparable part of the craft of cutting and of creating a recognisable silhouette.
Material and construction
Creating an architectural silhouette requires close attention to the properties of the fabric.
Its density, drape, texture and ability to hold its shape influence every construction decision.
A clean shoulder line, an accentuated waist, complex darts or soft draping all call for different approaches to the material.
That is why at L’ESKIZZO, choosing the fabric and developing the construction are interconnected processes. Material does not simply complement the design — it becomes part of the garment’s architecture.
European textile traditions
L’ESKIZZO pays particular attention to premium materials and to working with European fabric makers for whom quality, craftsmanship and textile tradition are the foundation of production.
The brand’s collections use materials from leading European mills:
— REDA (Italy) — a historic Italian mill founded in 1865, known for its high-quality wool fabrics, including merino wool.
— Estethia G.B. Conte (Italy) — an Italian maker of suiting fabrics and part of the Marzotto Group. Its materials allow us to create the clean architectural lines of jackets and suits.
— Pontoglio (Italy) — an Italian maker of premium velvet with a textile history dating back to 1883. Its materials stand out for their depth of colour, expressive texture and special tactility.
— Fitecom (Portugal) — a Portuguese producer of wool and blended fabrics used in suiting and structured garments.
— Dutel (France) — a French textile house specialising in jacquard fabrics, complex weaves and decorative textures.
Working with these makers allows L’ESKIZZO to explore different expressions of form — from the crisp architecture of a wool jacket to the soft fluidity of velvet and the expressive texture of jacquard.
In the Afterglow 2024 collection, for example, the brand worked with high-quality Italian wool, exploring the possibilities of structured outerwear.
For L’ESKIZZO, what matters is not only a material’s origin or visual appeal, but above all its ability to bring the intended form to life.
Tactility as part of Tender Tailoring
Tender Tailoring is the L’ESKIZZO philosophy, built on a balance between architectural construction and sensuality.
Tactility holds a special place in this philosophy.
Clothing can be structured yet soft to the touch. Expressive in silhouette, yet comfortable to move in.
This combination allows L’ESKIZZO to work with contrasts: masculine elements and feminine details, clean lines and the fluidity of fabric.
Wool gives the silhouette structure, velvet adds depth and softness, and jacquard opens up possibilities for working with volume and texture.
Every material becomes a tool for creating clothing in which form and feeling exist in harmony.
Less is More: attention to detail
The Less is More philosophy is also reflected in how we work with materials.
Every fabric, every piece of hardware and every construction detail has its purpose.
At L’ESKIZZO, the expressiveness of a silhouette comes not from an excess of decorative elements, but from precise proportions, a considered cut and the quality of materials.
The brand strives to create pieces that combine easily with one another while keeping their character and recognisability.
This approach shapes a wardrobe that goes beyond seasonal trends.
Clothing that feels like your own
Material is the first thing a woman feels when she puts on a garment.
That is why tactility, comfort and freedom of movement remain essential parts of the L’ESKIZZO design philosophy.
For the brand, true quality shows not only in how clothing looks, but in how it accompanies a woman throughout her day.
In how a jacket holds its shape, how fabric moves with the body and how a considered construction creates a feeling of confidence.
L’ESKIZZO — form that supports.
